For example says there are 8 bars in the beat you are using, after either 2 or 4 you should put a ryhming word in it.

writing to a beat is somthin you cant just be told..it takes time an practice to understand the right concept an get a feel of the beats flow. the best practice is freestyling i think. just practice it an u'll find ur flow soon

im quite experienced with writin to a beat.

whe u are writin to a beat, u have to know how many counts the beat has, and the repetition. u know when people go like, 1 2.. 1 2.., or 1 2 3 4... 1 2 3 4. you have to move according to the counts and go with the rythm, make it flow nicely.

and you should perfect your timin, and when to breath, listners dont want to hear you grasp for breath at the last second. cont the beat as u go along.

peace

okay, Green, what i do? before writing a rap, and when i know i want to write one, i just think of a beat it could be rapped to, and then i write it along the beat. so, basically, before you write, think of a beat that goes along with the topic or something, or, just think of a beat that would go really good with any rap. that's my advice.

for me i try to listens to the short pauses or slight changes in the beat. try to make my bars end at those points. Ill also take some time and just hum along with the beat to try an devolope a vocal pattern.. Hope any of this helps.

^^^werd...

i actually have a hard time keyin without a beat in the background....

a well defined metronome like bass line or hi hat drum combo helps- listen to all of shady's stuff...there is a metronome like sound of sum kind in the back of everything track and it helps mcs stay consistent with the flow and delivery...

the key is finding your own melody tho to complement the beat....you don't have to get all mathematcial about it tho...like ven said jus try and get a rhythm or flow goin when hummin to the beat and lace sum words behind it...

start out simple with a hard hitting multi combo or sumthin when the bass line hits or repeats itself, and try workin backwords from there...
