But check this out. This is IMPORTANT

You have 4 BARS instead of 2. If I had been given an opportunity to vote I would have disregarded your last two bars and voted on your first two which I didn't like as much. Be sure that if you put one bar per line in the next round that you only do two lines.

I see now that everyone has an apparent misunderstanding of what constitutes a bar. Check this out. Imagine I have a screen resolution of 8000 pixels wide. And let's say I use a 12 point font. I could fit 10 times as long a line on a monitor of that resolution. I could fit everything in Gopha's verse on one line. That doesn't mena it is only one bar. A bar isn't one line across a screen. Let me try something really quick.

My resolution is 1440 x 900 and this verse goes across my screen just barely over 4 times. Therefore according to a few that I talked about this with that means it is 2 bars.

If this is the same verse then how do we determine how many bars it is? Is it just one line on the screen? Well my screen is 1440 pixels wide. What if someone has the resolution 800 x 600? They only have two thrids of my screen length. So this may be more bars in their eyes. Is this true? Does the resolution of the viewers monitor determine how many bars it is?

Have you figured it out yet? BLCC rhymed two lines together to form one bar where as Gopha rhymed each line with itself.

BLCC:
Line 1: 'a-cross'

Gopha:

Line 2: 'UPS'
Line 3: MYND-LESS
Line 4: CRUISE

Does everyone understand this so far? BLCC thinks his verse is 2 bars. Gopha would see it as 1. Let me show you why. I will reformat BLCC's verse like Gopha did his.

As you can see this is the same verseon two lines. Most people would look at BLCCs verse and say it is two bars. So why would it not be 2 bars like this? I have been going back and forth with people about this for some time now so let me explain it to you all in a way you cannot argue.

The same fuckin' thing y'all. Just because a car "turns in to" a parking lot doesn't mean it "turns into" a parking lot. You catching my drift? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that slashes and screen length do not determine what a bar is. If Gopha put one slash at the end of his verse does that mean it is one bar? If he put slashes in after every word does that mean he went over the limit? If he can fit all of his text onto one line does that mean it's one bar?

I can't possibly give you every possibility of a bar that could happen in a battle. I got this before:

All I can tell you is to use your common sense. Picking out bars isn't brain surgery. You can write your verse any way you want to but know what is a bar and what isn't. Gopha put one bar on each line.

Let me format his like BLCC did to show you.

Now he has two lines for one bar. Every other line rhymes with it's pair to form a bar.

Here's something else to put down this theory. Can you have half a bar? Is that possible? Let's see.

His verse still looks good to me without that last line. It's as though the verse didn't need that last line to be a verse. That's because an entire bar was contained in that last line. You cannot chop off half of a bar in a verse and the verse sound fine. That would leave you with an "orphan" line. IN Gopha's case he has no "orphan" line because of the way he wrote his verse.

I'm not going to argue with everyone about this unless you can give me a proof positive argument of why every point I made is not true.


Let me help you save some time. It can't be done.

I'm not hating on Gopha. He's one of the best i've ever seen. But in a tournament I want to make sure that it is fair for both competitors. And if someone is allowed to do 4 bars instead of 2 they have twice as good a chance as their opponent.

Here's my quick 2 cents on this....

Dope verse Gopha Definitely......But the fact of the matter is...It WAS 4 bars.....But you squeezed it alltogether to make it seems as it was 2 bars....Every time you switch to a new rhyme scheme that means you switched to a new bar basically... and it looks like Logikal broke it down well enough...no doubt it was a good verse....But rules must be followed..
