Lines or Bars?

Just to clear this up admin....is it 8 lines or 8 barz, cos some battles have bars, some have lines...i just don't want to waste time writing 16 bars and it turns out to be 16 lines, you know what i mean, plus if this is meant to be all even an shit, it doesn't make much sense for the original pairings to be unfair on some people...so if you could clear it up cheers

In the context of hip hop: bars, lines and measures can be considered the same thing. Usually a line fits into a bar, and usually a bar is 4/4 time which is a measure.

So, simple answer is: it's all the same.

*Most people see a bar as two lines, rhyming at the end, eg:

people can't stand your rhymes, so sit down while i explain~this/

that is a bar to me, (whack I know, but it was long ago), so essientially a bar consists of two lines, or one pair of rhmying words, you'll often see the phrased 'stretched bars' on these boards where someone feels that the MC has put chose to sacrafice solid rhyming for more conent, this is only advisable if you have really strong content.
