OK this isn't the GFX forum, and this thread is about imports not Escalades. I hate imports. I am American all the way. I get in a lot of arguments with dumb ass people who know nothing about cars and claim the superiority of their import over my American muscle. I had a dumb ass 16 year old girl tell me her Honda was a good car when she only had it for a few fuckin' months! What???? She doesn't even know how to change her fucking oil! How the hell does she know what a good car is, especially when she's only been driving for a few months. I love American car companies and I will continue to try my best to support any American company I can. The younger kids don't know yet how badly our country is spiraling downward in the global economy and the adults are mostly too fuckin ignorant to know or notice. I work in an industry where American plants are beign closed on a daily basis and people are losing jobs to foreign labor. I try to hold true to the few places that we still have the ability to dominate and control the market enough to keep some jobs here. Those markets are automobiles, software, computer processors, computers, some agricultural markets, music, film, and television.

Imports, contrary to popular belief by the ignorant assholes who also claim that they are superior to any American car merely because of being NON-American, are actually MORE EXPENSIVE than equivalent domestic cars. Let's give you an example. Back in 2000 I bought a brand new Mustang GT. In the same category as my car was the Honda Prelude. They may not have made them that year but if they didn't they must have quit the year before. Anyway, for LESS MONEY than I could buy a V6 honda prelude with less power and less options I could buy a V8 Mustang GT with leather interior and the premium 17 inch wheels! Now who would think that the imports are cheaper and better? Fuck imports! Fuck them up their stupid asses!

Imports are best. I would choose Imports over luxery/sport cars. WIth imports, u can modify them as u wish, which means sky's the limit. Luxury/sport/exotic cars are already at their best...Nothin more u can possibly do to them. Thats like tryin to put a supercharger ona ferarri, which dont make sense. A properly modifed import would SMOKE a ferarri neday

Fuck a import.. yea you can slap a ugly ass body kit and scribbler graphics on the side of it WOW! who gives a shit about payin $30,000 on a Prelude to make it have 250 horsepower.. Im with everyone else here.. go american muscle.. Put 24's on a box chevy and dont u dare lower that shit!! Im southern and as far as I know we are the only breed of people that put a 6inch lift kit on a el camino just so ya 26's fit.. I love that shit!!

Heh...
I like cars from the US. However, american cars arent made to last. My dad bought a Chevy Van in the 80s:

It wasn't for sale here in Sweden yet, so he imported it. It had everything he ever had dreamed of... V8, air conditioning. It's still the most comfortable ride he can recall he ever had driven, or sat in... And he's been driving cars for like 50 years now! The thing was, that it corroded as feck! The stuff just didn't stick together. Then his buisness went bad, so he sold it... and bought a shabby old Volvo 240:

The Volvo was friggin' invincible! The engine never screwed up, and everything allways worked, despite he sometimes had to drive to Stockholm and back once a week (that's 400 kilometres for your ass). Mum's had a Toyota Corolla since 1997, and we didn't even have to change the oil untill last year!
So yes, American cars are great, WHILE THEY LAST. I mean, european cars are allways galvanised everywhere, in the US they don't even PAINT the underside (I'm not very good with american car terms, but the word I'm looking for is english for "underrede").

This anti import stuff is silly. Sure, American muscle is good raw power, but imports have refinements that make them able competition. And I don't mean Civics when I say imports. The Civic is not a sports car. The Civic is an economic family car. This doesn't mean you can't make one fast; heck, you can make a moped fast... But there are some great imports, such as the Toyota Twin Turbo Supra and there's the 300zx Twin Turbo (which I own). I've had SS Camaros (old and new) and SVT Mustangs find out how fast the Twin Turbo is :D, and it's also a beautiful car. Very well made, very respectable. It may not have the pure torque of an American muscle machine, but it'll outrun many of them and get a lot better gas mileage as well :P Probably the main things I like about the imports are the styling, the handling, and the fact that so many people trash talk them.

See ya at a red light - peace
