Hi all, I am using Cool Edit Pro 2.0 on my computer.
I have a beat in one track and I want to listen to that beat while recording my rap on another track. I tried fooling around in the multitrack view of Cool Edit Pro but have had no success.
What always happen after I finish my recording is that on track 2, the track where I recorded my vocals, the beat on track 1 gets recorded too. The combination produces a horrible recording quality. Note that I used headphones to listen to the beat in track one. The point to note is, the beat that gets recorded too did not come from the headphones. I don't know where it came from. The only way I can record the vocals is to actually mute the volume on track 1, which of course beats the purpose.
I need to listen to the beat in order to get my flow right.
If any of you can help me how to :
record my vocals strictly on one track,
while listening to a beat on another track at the same time
that would be really great.
Thanks
