I think Eminem is entirely over-rated...........don't get me wrong he is a great lyricist but it's the same shit with him over and over..........he never comes with anything new..........

I understand where you feel that some of the southern acts are simplistic but I absolutely love Southern rap. Nappy Roots is one of my fave groups--and they aren't anywhere near simple..old CashMoney label--some of those beats are madness. Everyone knows I love Juvenile--old, new ..Hot Boys stuff is the shit. The Neptunes and Outkast are sick southern representitives..

I think its silly to make blanket statements about east/west/south---there are always exceptions--specially when there are so many artists around.

but.. to each his own right..

Well,I have alot of favorite rappers but my my absolute favorites are Tech N9ne,Chino XL,Saigon,Fort Minor,2pac,Big L and Jedi Mind Tricks

Overrated:

50 Cent- his 1st album,Get Rich or Die Tryin, was dope. However,when he came out with the Massacre,it was utter bullshit because lyrically,he regressed and he seemed to be talkin about the same shit. To make matters worse,the Massacre sounds just like a Ja Rule album. What the fuck? I thought 50 hated Ja Rule but it seems like he`s on Ja`s dick because of shit such as "So Amazing","Best Friend","Candy Shop" and "Gunz Come Out". Add a weak "diss" track(Piggy Bank) to that and you have one of the shittiest albums of 2005. On top of that,the only reason his shit sells is because people don`t know what good music is.
Now,occasionally,50 comes out with good songs such as "Hustler`s Ambition","I`ll Whip Your Head Boy" and "You Don`t Know" but until he cleans up his act,he`ll never be as good as he used to be.

Chingy- is another overrated rapper. He has out a couple good songs such as "Holidae In" and "Dem Jeans"(yeah,I know,shut the fuck up) but listen to his 1st,2nd and 3rd albums and you`ll notice that he only talks about bitches,bling,fast cars and more bitches. Self-explanatory.

Yung Joc- also talks about the same subject matter as the previous two rappers mentioned above. To make matters worse,his flow and delivery are garbage and he can`t even do good punchlines
