Fabolous and his production team get hit big after being accused of stealing copywritten music

NEW YORK - A Brooklyn music publisher recently filed a lawsuit against hit-rapper Fabolous of whom the lawsuit claims stole a copywriten riff that was previously distributed on a listen-only basis to the rapper and his production team.

The Brooklyn producer, Carla Boone, who has filed the suit claims that the hit track "Young N (Holla Back)," on the previous released "Ghetto Fabolous" LP contained a song "similar" to a track created by her duo production team known as Trajik.

According to the plaintiff, Trajik's 1999 song "Holla' Back" features the words "holla back" which are repeated and used over and over in the formation of a chorus, according to the suit papers which were filed in a Manahattan federal court.

Carla Boone, allegedly claims that she gave her production teams CD to a few different people, including a number of executives and producers who worked with Fabolous including Pharrell Williams and Charles Hugo who both make up the production team known as the Neptunes.

Boone has named Fabolous, also known as John Jackson, and several of his affiliate companies in the suit which also includes Elektra, EMI April Music and Warner Music Group.
