hhmmm....I seem to influence some people and I'm independent still...what an accomplishment on my part

to be honest no one really 'influences' me so to speak...I like a lot of rappers but I do not look towards any but myself for inspiration....I feel you loss the true meaning of you when you look towards others for help with such things as this

I know it seems weird to be influence by yourself but it's easy for me to do so.....I am my toughest critic......when I hear from people that something I have written is 'ill' or 'sick' it's not anough for me....I push myself way to much...I have yet to write anything that has satisfied me.....I write every song to out do the one before.....this process will either make me or brake me but in the end it's all in my hands and no one elses

Wow... big ups, deep sh**.. I feel what'cha mean though. I'm not a lyricist, but a beatmaker, and to some degree, I feel like you in the way that I try to outdo myself with every beat. I'm impressed with my beatz 50% of the way until I make my next one. I'm always tryin' to perfect my soundz and composition from the previous beat. I do have peepz that I sorta look up to though and who has influenced me... lyrically, I'd say Nas would be my biggest influence, along with peepz like Canibus, Common, Biggie, 2pac, and Method man... mainly, peepz that deliver either crazy metaphoric sh**, or that deliver deep messages or storylinez on their trackz. Beatwise, in order, Havoc's production, Primo, RZA, Alchemist, and L.E.S. to name a few. There are others that are good influences too, and others (aka Pharrell) that I stay away from altogether. To each their own inspiration though. Peace Divine... I'll have to peep your skillz one day soon. Holla.

now, Divine Write, I feel what you are saying, but thats more my motivation to continue doing, and improving what I do.

My life, my path, my thoughts, my friends, my enemies, how my mind works etc. are all what I use for inspiration.

Also, my pops is good for inspiration. He was a musician, never was a huge success, but made some good money on the side, and had a great time. He taught me what I know about music theory.

It seems that we are very similar in this area. Personally, i find it very hard to please myself (no m.asturbation jokes :) ) I'm very hard on myself, and this seems to be the reason i don't get more tracks recorded, i'm never content with what i write. If people happen to like what i do, cool, i have no problem with that, i'm glad they enjoy it, but it is very rare for me to fully content with what i put down. I also tend to be more influenced by my life, surroundings, current world situations etc. than i do by any emcee.
