MANE's verse:
There is no turning back now...My bloodshed past drives me to succeed in one thing..One love..One basketball, on one court.
I rise and I wake to face the day, attack it like an ice breaker,
Patrollin' the court, shots made perfect like movie theatres,
My soul is chained down to the game's whistle blow now,
I aint never gonna slow down, not even 'till I hold crowns,
I'm gonna define a new glory no man has ever thought of,
The greatest NBA legend blasting off like he brought guns,
Face covered in a cold sweat, I wake to the slightest peep,
Cuz death surrounds fate and failure might just creak,
I palm this basketball, stand tall like my city of New York,
I break the reigns- my fears, Let my anger channel into courts,
This was the point of no return... . .
Shootin hoops was my dream, from sleep to the dawn of day,
Mom was strung out on things I tried to escape and get away,
Dad was a memory to me, suicide; it scarred me like a blade,
I thought of hatred and anger, But look back, see what it made,
The basketball was my Jesus Christ for all the days that I played,
Washed away all of my pain, The weakness leaving my body,
I grew strong, stayed away from drugs and kept up my hobby,
My life, my future, my rope I strived to climb outta this hole,
Needles and spoons on the dinner table made me want to fold,
Some days I would hold my hunger to get away from mom,
But I learned better than that I had to eat to stay strong,
I prayed to a God I never knew that she would pass away,
Tellin’ myself I was insane, But how could I not be?
I felt my grip stripped- but clenched my teeth, never gave,
My endurance wasn’t just cardio, that’s how you unlock dreams,
It wasn’t ‘till the day I came home from school and found-
My mother layin’ on the ground- face down she was drowned,
In a pool of her own blood, I didn’t flinch, didn’t think,
Face with a motive to prove this wasn’t the end of me,
I just turned around headed straight down to my fate,
This was the day I sold my soul to this game, this gate,
This pathway to destiny, I gathered the rest of what was left in me,
Dropped out of school, Only mathematics was counting score,
Three point shots from every angle, I knew geometry,
Heart pounding, I’d play ‘till my vision would distort,
Giving a war to each and every man who stepped to me,
This was the birth of the greatest NBA legend seen,

..::Back With A Vengeance::..
Competition. Memories of the most amiable contests and most bitter rivalries lay scattered across the desolate concrete
The gladiators of Rome, militaristic Sentries from Sparta, and Mongols From Khan, pail in comparison in their will to compete
For ages has the very nature of such combat been debated fervently among scholars and common folk alike.
Man's inherent nature. The human condition. Wasn't such barbaric notariety staple of Hitler's Third Reich?
Are we from birth endowed with such bellicose tendencies? Warrish notions, with sound human judgement depleting?
In such matters of philosophical discussion, man seeks reason, and he most often discovers this reason in competing
A chilling battle field, 4700 Square feet of punishing wood, sought to strip valid men of the will to live
After 24, an erratic buzzing sound imbues the battlefield with haunting discord, possession to the adversaries, will it give
Two windows peered edifice over them all, faces outlines in tribal white-wash, awaiting the oncoming punishment
Being bludgeoned with unrelenting fury, whilst challengers sought to dethrone the king of the court, whose rule was incumbent
Lifeless mannequins, thoughtless tankards, acting only of pure emotions? Surely, they were not.
Their wrists held firm, and somewhat inclined, to promote the overall quickness and accuracy of the shot
Razor tongued, lashing at the adversaries, taunting with everything from slurs from their origin, to sexual inuendoes
But still, competition held true. Binding nylon garments complemented while leather bounced rythmically in decadent crescendos
December 1891.
Transcending the composure of gentle kindness and the outright demands of socialism,
A Peach Basket nailed to 10 feet of elevated track, "Duck On A Rock" was the former colloquialism
Within, there is a unnerring breeze, and the distinct sound of young children laughing, forthwith
The night's frost was beginning to thaw in the early dawn, leaving a slush-like texture to be dealt with
In The physical Center, He sought to leave previous short-comings and predispositions, splintered
By formulating rigorous aerobics, to keep sinews keen through harsh New England Winters
Soon, rules would find semblance and a adequately placed monocer began to take shape
'Basket Ball' permeated Massachusetts, reaching Canadian plains, and began to make haste,
Haste in it's ascension as a naitonal entity; A cult-esque following began thriving, with a staggering pace
Truly non-denominational, stars were made, devoid of religious background, class, or race.
November 1946 -
Famous countenances thrust the League into a national spotlight, sucking in talent like quicksand
A wizard called Cousy handled as if it was his own, and Mikan attained the role of the first dominant Big man.
Offensive tendencies failed, and pailed in comparison to Russel's ingenious defensive strategies
While the barn-storming Globetrotters produced the Stilt, whose tenacious force left steel rims rattling
Three tens in a straight Eighty-Two. Impossible nowadays, so no other could do it like Mr. Robertson
Until a wiry teenager from Carolina won a tournament as a freshman. You know, Robert's Son.
Podunk Indiana produced a sharpshooter. Irish Pride stamped on his chest, winning was his only tactic
And under the distracting oscillations from harsh, fluorescent lights, we all witnessed what was known as 'Magic'/16
November 1992-
An undeniable force, graces our presence, bringing down a harsh realization, as he slammed from the Heavens
Diesel ran in his veins, his body a Mack Truck. Spin, and go into flight. Size 22EEE's staring down at the peasants
Meanwhile, in metropolitan Pennsylvania, the second coming was just beginning to catch swagger.
Quietly he worked, until the constant repetition warranted attention: He played with the tenacity of a badger.
10 Years long-since, the samurai ObeKay Yant-Bre, has enveloped the shoes of a past spectre of greatness...::

Ight...
On Topic: Mane,
By a longshot, Stetic I understand what you were doing with the whole human aggression, in relation to competitive addiction, but that shit was right off topic, while Mane kept it concentrated, strait off the bat and throughout
Flow:Mane,
Stetic ya first verse was horrible stretched, or ya poetic meters are to difficult to define, your transitions were non existent all you concentrated on was end rhyme, which is fucked considering how long ya lines were, you got better by the 2nd,3rd, and 4th , but Mane took it, had better internals…transitions was shit so your both even therr, but mains meters were way easier to follow and his structure had a lot to do with that
Multis:Mane,
longer closer in syllable rhyme,
Depth:Mane,
Although Stetic went deep into the history and errything else, im voting on the depth in relation to the actual subject, and for me Mane did a much better job of it, errything was well explored,
Metas:Stetic,
Mane was more into the story side, not to complicated, Stetic got this easily the whole verse was riddled with them
Imagery:Mane,
got strait into the imagery immediately, his emotional side helped as well
Vocab/word choice: Mane,
suited his style of storytellin in relation to the subject, Stetic you had big words but they stunted the flow of the verse, they were placed in weird positions, for me if your gonna use big vocab the whole line needs to be filled with it, or you run the danger of just tryin to sound smart, when in actuality it looks stupid.
Complexity: Stetic,
Mainly due to his metas,Mane was pretty strait forward
Originality:Mane,
while Stetic had actuall NBA legends in his verse, the way Mane told his story was a much fresher angle, i liked the whole struggle, and detrmination aspect better
Enjoyment:Mane
Overall Vote:Mane
much more concentrated drop, better story tellin, and much more engaging...both have room for improvment, but we all need to elavate...be easy...peace

Depth: MANE…Agreed with Armada
Imagery: MANE
Originality: ANNIE
Flow: TIE (Even though Annie’s was stretched, the flow seemed fine for me, nothing too forced)
Multis: MANE
Enjoyment: MANE... No hate but I wasn’t into the whole background history of “basket-ball.”
Vocab: ANNIE
O/a vote: MANE
2-0
