iight i actually never listened to australian rap, only til actually just recently not that long ago i heard some stuff which was cos one of my homies showed it to me, some of em have such strong accents, with the exception of bliss cos he's from the bronx....anyways i was wonderin why no australian rapper has ever gone big in like mainstream/secular aka wordwide, they just pretty much stay in australia, why??

Firstly hows it been. Haven't seen ya in ages!
Secondly, yeah I wonder why to, and reckon it's prolly cause rap originated in US, and has a style to it. Hilltop hoods are against that style and post aussie rappers rap about the things we do. No one carse, in america its rape rape kill kill drugs drugs money money... i spose the just like hearing it..
chyeah i know it's been forever since i been on dis site..life gets hectic aye lol...specially since highschool is over and now i have to grow up and learn how to pay bills LOL,nah actually i ain't even know how to pay bills yet
yeah true i notice how different the style is in comparision to american rap...i hate mainstream rap tho, it's only ever good at parties and crunkin in the car, and so many people that listen to mainstream don't realise rap can go deeper, its an art form/ self expression...it's good australian rappers have drifted away from rapping bout regular secular stuff and spit about other stuff dats more real...shame they ain't known tho, so much of talent goes unoticed in this world lol

Aussie Accents - Hilltop Hoods... Ties it up nicely... Listen to it -- I think they onto something. Personally, I dont like HTHoods but they definitely got a point going...

how is everybody travelling ? its been a long time since i have heard from you all.
i honestly think yeah, we are australian our historial heritage is unique, and we have a God Blessed Country, all Aussie Hip Hop Heads know that and respect it, the Culture both of Aus n Hip Hop is Very Similar and we have taken it onboard as a skill we all have . well alotta Emcees, Djays, Breakers and Graff artists.

i ain't white, most of the western part is full of immigrants mixed people,asians,africans,latinos,middle eastern,islanders,maurie's, aboriginals the original people of australia but majority of the people are caucasian not that there's anything wrong wit being white cos there are really good white,black, brown,green yellow rappers out there,,..i mean there is still a huge amount of racism in rap and the world goin on,whether it may be towards skin colour or ability whatever......... bout US rap being all about guns shooting and killin,i'm pretty sure I and the others on this thread weren't meaning it in that way, cos it ain't.... we just tawkin bout mainstream mainly..well i hope that's what youse we're tawkin bout right?
and bout the accents it really depends..if you thinkin steve irwin and ccrocadile dundee kinda accent on a rap that' sounds terrible! i only heard the tv people sound like that..lol.. and it makes me laugh..., but thats susch a stereotype, the real people, some australian accent sounds good generally depends on vocals/influences, it's just different..like i mean today i heard greek rap lol i didn't understand a word they were sayin, but it was coo cos they had skillz and it was pretty good
