How is he getting dicked? By controlling what he puts out? By making sure no one forces him to put something out that will "blow up on the radio"? He's not getting dicked, he is on Rhymesayers Entertainment, which is the type of label any REAL emcee should want to be

by getting dicked im saying hes not getting the recognition he should be, and the fact mc's like him arent widely listened to is regrettable when you consider the shit that people are digging

good thing I do not listen to the "shit" (perfect word for whar people are digging) people are digging. Believe me, what people should be listening to has been a losing battle of mine for years. On that note, Brother Ali is doing well for himself

Ya know as much as I hate it you gotta give recognition to the people putting out crappy music. If you put some thought into it bandwoagon fans
are what really keeps public attention on anything, say for instance
baseball.
The redsox just won the penant for the american league playoffs. They
now have a large amount of people who have "always" been redsox
fans. The same with gimmicky or catchy rappers. It gives people who
appreciate rap(or in this case baseball) a reason to complain and,
a firmer set of morals for their lives passions. On the other hand
you have the "sheep" who throw money into it giving rap(in general)
a bigger demand. Not only that you get people who hear this(crap) and
look for something that's more about the music.

I like where you went with your argument Johnny 5 that was well thought out. However, I don't know a lot of people watching the VMA's when lil wayne wins an award and suddenly become "Out of the closet" Lil Wayne fans. If you catch where I'm going.
If not, I'm basically saying that the fan base of artists like Brother Ali has a love for music brought together through sampled tunes, synthetic drums (and real alot of the time), words/poetry, and rythm through syncapation. Alot of us who are fans of Brother Ali (and artists alike) are sick of mainstream club bangers, and want to enjoy the initial feeling the art originally gave us.
WOW, was I just Ms Teen South Carolina or what? lol

Brother ALI came to charlotte last year with Rakim. Great show, however it was in a bar, so the attendance was minimal. So yeah, you are right, he is not getting the recognition he deserves.

Dude those are the best, I saw boondox, AMB, Loki, and blaze ye dead homie at the culture lounge in fort lauderdale FL, minimal attendance
but more hype than a pink floyd concert.
