Halloween is almost here and every year since 2004 the Saw movies have been a staple in theaters across the country. This year is no exception.

Ever since I saw the original I feel in love with the movie and was first in line to see every subsequent release the moment it hit theaters. I have yet to be dissapointed with the series. The original was a masterpiece with the greatest endind to a movie ever. The idea of the movie leaves it open to so many great stories.

Three strong (as of right now since the fourth has yet to be released) this francise does not seem to be falling into the typical multi-sequal horror epics by dumbing down the script and making the character of Jigsaw a joke like so many have before it. With the news I've been hearing I fear it will though. Having read that they are writing a fifth AND SIXTH installment already and will shoot both films back to back early next year. Releasing the fifth Halloween next year and the sixth Halloween '09.

The synopsis of Saw IV is like so:

Jigsaw and his apprentice Amanda are dead. Now, upon the news of Detective Kerry's murder, two seasoned FBI profilers, Agent Strahm and Agent Perez, arrive in the terrified community to assist the veteran Detective Hoffman in sifting through Jigsaw's latest grizzly remains and piecing together the puzzle. However, when SWAT Commander Rigg is abducted and thrust into a game, the last officer untouched by Jigsaw has but ninety minutes to overcome a series of demented traps and save an old friend or face the deadly consequences.

What I've read make it seem like everything done in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are all build-ups to some bigger plan that Jigsaw put together before he died. This idea gets me excited for the upcoming sequal.

Anyone who has any thoughts or news on the movie feel free to share. I will update this post with news as I find it.

I saw the movie the Friday inwhich it came out. It was no where near as good as the three before it. It didn't start, end or even flow like the other three did.

The original was amazing and the next two to follow where good for sequals. They gave more of the things you loved in the original and they gave you some more into the mind of Jigsaw.

The fourth installment did pretty much the same with a lot more focus on the Jigsaw character. There was something about it that made it feel a bit different.

The sysnopsis in which I supplied was not entirely true. The a little peice that was inaccurate. I don't want to say which because it ruin the movie for you.

It had its typical "twist" at the end. This one fell way short though. I guessed it ten minutes in and thought it was to stupid to be so. At the very end, before the credits end, you see a glimpse into the next two movies (which I'll get into in a minute) when the actual proceedings of this movie are revealed. The ending doens't come as obvious as the other ones did. The ones before showed you flashbacks of things spoken or done that hinted upon the ending. This one does in a sense but not to the degree as those before. While the twist in unfolding you're left wondering "What the hell" as certian events fall into place. Than at the end you figure it out.

This one is the most gruesome and violent out of the whole series. The traps in this one are the best thus far. Some are pretty fucked up. And it takes a lot to get me to say that. It doesn't begin with a random torture and trap like the other ones. It begins with an extremly graphic autopsy of Jigsaw. Then a trap is shown.

This movie dives deep into the life of Jigsaw before everything happens. Even before cancer. You get to see his wife, friends, and what he did for a living. This is really enjoyed. I think Tobin Bell is a great actor and makes the character of Jigsaw. A lot of what they give you explains a lot of how he is able to do what he does and why. They paint him as human instead of a monster. You also get to see his very first test ever.

This movie brings together a lot of things from the second and third one and wraps it together explaining a lot.

Now onto what I said earlier about the next two films. From what I hear they want to make this a six movie series. No more, no less. I don't know if that's the case. When the first one was released it was said they will never make a sequal. Here we are four deep. Than it was said to be slated as a trilogy. The death of Jigsaw and Amanda in the third made that same true. Not but two weeks after the thirds release I find news of a fourth installment and maybe even a fifth and sixth. Now I now for sure there will be a fifth and sixth. They started writing it and will begin filming them back to back early next year and release them Halloween of 08 and 09.

From what I heard when the third was done some ideas where tossed around for something huge. They molded this and talked to big-wigs at Lionsgate and they approved the fourth movie before the third was even release. The same thing happened with the next two. They were approved before the fourth was even finished before filmed. From what I hear the first second and third were all build-ups to the fourth and fifth. Which all together are build-ups to the sixth which is supposed to have this insane ending that reveals something huge. I don't know yet. I just hope they won't fall into the same rut that the other multi-sequal horror films have.

All and all the fourth was decent. The worse of them all but still good. Once you figure out the ending you appreciate the movie for what it is and don't hate the "twist" at the end. It's the most violent one to date and could be at times diffilcult to watch. Especially if you don't take to well to things you can relate the pain to.

If you loved the three before you'll like this addition. If you like them you'll most likely hate this one.

It's 08 and that means a New Year for a new Saw...

The only news I have to give is it seems that Darren Lynn Bousman (the directer of the 2,3,4) will not be directing this one..

Other than that I have nothing...

I just bought the fourth one...It's the uncut directers cut...Nothing new gore wise seemed to be added...They did remove somethings and add somethings at the climax of the film which makes it play out a little better than what I remember in theaters...

I'll keep whoever cares informed...

Now come on people, I can't be the only fan of this series. I would safely assert that I am the biggest fan on this site but I can't be the only one. Let's talk Saw now people.

The Saw franchise, something I can relate too, as it is my favorite horror franchise.

Saw 1: This one was alright, not my favorite though, I didn't like the fact that for the most part the movie was based around the lawerance ( Larry ) and John being stuck in that single room the entire length of the movie. The end was pretty witty, and had me thinking, however.
Saw 2: This one was one of my favorite's, they didn't know what they were going to do after ending "saw 1", and were not sure if there would be a sequel, I knew, however, just by the ending of "saw 1", that there would be a sequel, and it does not disapoint. This one had a nice variety of fatalities, and a brand new arsonal of character's waiting to be victimized by themselves.
Saw 3: This one has some of the greatest fatalities in the series in it to be honest, I just thought most of these slaughter's were truely classic, especially during the classroom scene, I thought that was very original and witty.
Saw 4: You know what, it's just alright. I thought this one was a blander "saw" then all the rest. I'm not sure why, I just thought there were one or two classic slaughter's, and one that I really did enjoy would be when the hotel owner was laying on the bed, tied up, forced to watch himself rape folk's whome have stayed at his hotel, then, he chooses between pulling a string which will activate a scyth like object in return will go into his iris, or to not pull the string, and allow his limb's to be ripped off one by one.
Saw 5: Sadly, I have not seen it yet. I was going to catch it last night, but I was too busy, I am going to get around to it shortly, however.

It was hoooooorrible. So I suggest to any non-hardcore Saw fans, save your money and go see suntin else.

I cannot explain how disappointing and just plain bad this movie was. Hell, it should have its own thread, just becuz it doesn't deserve to disgrace the name of the franchise lol.

LOL....don't let me scurr ya Serg. If you're a BIG fan, you mite as well check it out, but like I said, if you haven't seen them all and don't look forward to the Saw's every year, then it's definitely a waste of money.

And all of my friends that went with me, and that I've spoken to since then agreed that it was shit. But idk. There may be someone, somewhere that thought it was spectacular. lol

Okay, i was begged to see this shit. And i regret it! Personally it made no sense, (probably due to the fact I didn't bother to see Saw's 3 or 4.) But i figured Saw 1 was cool, so why not watch 5.

Anyways, there are 2 cops that look alike (sort of). And some parts confused me. Same sick shit as usual, which is cool. But some parts pissed me off, and i didn't find a big twist at the end of the movie like 1 and 2.

Every Review Is Negative Near Abouts! Even On A Saw 5 Forum Itself! think I'll Let Someone Else Pay If I Go See It.

See, now I'm gonna bring the flip side of all the hype.

Saw.....sucked......saw 2....sucked more....

When my now ex-GF told me how awesome it was and how in saw you'll never guess the ending.....half way through I turned to her and flat out said "The dude's in the room with them." She couldn't believe it and I laughed then sat through the last half rather pissed at how crappy things were going.

It doesn't help that criminology and anything to do with criminal minds is something I love to watch and through most movies and shows I tend to try and figure it all out before it ends. So that probably ruined it for me. The traps are insanely clever I'll give them that, but the focus on how "sick" the movie is distracts people from the plot that's not too hard to follow and figure out.

NOW, having said all that for those of you entranced by the first to the fourth I can see why the desire to watch the movie is there. But really, if you want an amazing mix of almost everything, watch Max Payne.....now there's a sweet movie.

I kno how u feel Ghost!!!! Why those bastards havta look similar??? lool

but anywayz, i still have yet to hear someone say suntin positive about the movie. i am now convinced that it is actually as horrible as i first thought ha....damn shame.

and yes, the "twist" failed to live up to the Saw franchise hype.

I am possibly the biggest saw fan there is. And I was disappointed by the latest one. It didn't have the pacing of the others, the usage of nail bombs in all the traps become redundant and un-sawesc. The twist was horrible. The other movies had a twist that would bring together the whole movie and explain things. This did nothing like that. It was just a trap.

There will be another one released around the same time next year. It's said to be the final one but who knows. It may follow the other multi-sequel horrors and continue as long as the money comes in.

I am glad that another huge Saw fan has validated my sentiments on the 5th installment. I only hope that 6 is a huuuuuuuuuge upgrade.

And yeah, I had heard that this (Saw V) was gonna be the last one, but they'll prolly go on for another 20 movies like those other franchises lol.

I thought the first one was cool...couple white guys trapped in a bathroom...pretty cool stuff...good twist and all. Second one was kinda' predictable. Third one was stupid, it was just gross. Fourth one I shut off because the traps in it were to nasty & the plot was dry. This fifth one I spent half the movie wondering when it was gonna' be over and the other half throwin' Whoppers at the screen. It blew.

LOL @ Miss-Tiff-Eyed, those 2 guys looked the same! But I think I like Saw 1 a lot cuz of the twist. I liked Saw 2 cuz of the storyline, and i didn't like the twist too much. I didn't see saw 3 or 4 - maybe that's why I didn't like the 5th one. Aw well. The twist in Saw 5 was kinda dumb. Also hard to say there was a 'big' twist. It was just that the people needed to use teamwork to all survive through the rooms. Saw 1, in my opinion is the best.

Agreed. The first was my fave as well. No, I'm pretty sure even if you'd seen those that you wud still agree it's horrible haha.

And really, I'm sure my first instinct would prolly not be to stab myself in the throat to get outta that first trap lol.... but maybe that's just me. He's prolly much smarter haha.

I thought that was clever. I wouldn't have thought of it. Even if I had woken up in the trap with the pen in my hand and a diagram on the walling explaining it.

I'm trying to not be too hard on the latest one. The rumors I have heard are like so...

It's was said when James Wan and Lee Whannel made the original they never intended on a sequel. Lionsgate threw a bunch of money at them and they began. It was penned at that time to be a 3 part deal. They just kept dealing well in theaters so the decided to make it a six part deal.

It's said they wanted to kill jigsaw and they be it. But than someone came in with this insane idea to tie it all up in six movies. The next is said to be the last and will tie everything up and offer the biggest twist in cinema history. It's said all the people chosen were chosen for a reason and that reason will be exposed in the next one.

Don't know if it's true so don't get your hopes up.

Word that kinda got it the shit he left for his wife.. The 5th wasnt that bad i dont know whyy people diss it.. Yah dont understand the story its just a build up to the 6th to show everybody how everything went from what it was to what it is now.. How the killings are still happening when Jigsaw is dead.. Its a nice movie not badd at all the gore isnt that bad eitherr the nail bomb gotta kinda boring but still was nice moviee i wanna see 6 and see the crazyy twist at the end the only reason people are saying the ending of saw 5 isnt so great is cuz they basically based saw 5's punchline on the end "you'll never know how it ends" if they wanted thatt they shoulda added a lil moree twist into it but it wasnt badd i woulda never figured that outt =]
