Has anyone heard of these yet? The idea has been around for some time, however it has become cheaper and cheaper to replicate.
Basically you run your TV through your computer, and you are able to record shows to your harddrive, thus creating the "TiVo" experience. It's pretty cool. I have a box set up in my apartment, the cable goes from the wall to my computer (Proper graphics card can be obtained for $80), then an SVideo from the computer to my TV.
Alot of setup was required, since I did the free "Linux" version. It required alot of reading, but the ends definetly justified the means. Now through the network I can transfer music and movie files to the "TV-BOX" and watch them via mythtv. Also, record shows and do a lot more.
It at least deserves a read.
