I'm going to keep this simple...
A devot Christian that I know constantly claims that the Bible is fact...
Can someone try to prove this point?
No, because there are no facts!...only interpretations.....to paraphrase Nietzsche twice today.

I consider myself an extremely tolerant person of other peoples life choices, yet there are a few things that do piss me off...And quit frankly they all have to do with religion...
Now when it comes to religion I am opened minded and allow others to say what they need to say...But there is a limit...
Here are a few of the things about religion that pisses me off...
The preachy follower...I have no problem with people who love God and want to share Gods word...I also have no problem when someone tries to convert me...This only last for the first time they do it...If I tell someone I'm not interested and they continue to babble on and attempt to convert me than I get pissed...
The never wrong...It seems to me that a lot, not all, of the followers of religion believe they have life figured out...The girl I mentioned before is like this and it pisses me off...I wish I could reach through the computer and smack her...She thinks homosexuals will burn in hell and that their sexual behaviors are not inherent to humans but is instead driven by the devil and his minions of evil...I ask her why she believes this and she says because they Bible says it to be so...That also pisses me off...She has no free will...She follows the Bible and doesn't think for herself...She states God gives us free will yet we have to follow Gods plan...If we don't accept Jesus into our hearts as the one and true savor than will we forever burn in the fiery soaked rivers of hell...That doesn't seem like a choice to me...If I were to hand two straws to an individual, let's say one is blue and the other is red, and I tell them to pick one...I tell them they have a completely free choice...I then pull out a gun and tell them if they don't pick the blue one I'm going to blow their head off...Sort of the same thing...Overly dramatic? Yes
The third thing, to kind of get back on track with the topic, is believers who confuse faith with fact...She's not the only person I've talked to who has said that the Bible is fact...Numerous people I know say that Jesus and God are facts...They say that we exist...Thus they have to be real...
The bottom line is religion can never stand up to the scientific method...You could never test it...There is no control...I have no problem with religion as long as the people who follow it realize that what they follow is faith and none of it is fact based...

Well,let me take this from my religion's point of view,Islam.
God doesn't tell anyone to convert anyone,he converts who he wishes when he wishes.
Anyone who takes God and starts to explain anything thru him is full of hot air,not faith.God wants us to do sum of the work he set out,he doesn't want us to blame him for everything.
Faith proves fact sometimes,like when the holy books DO give you wisdom for certain situations.
Anyone who is a full Atheist should reconsider his view of God.
God these days has been tainted by the clergy,the clergy just works for cash and not faith these days.

Yo to Divine Write, MAN that shit about the homos lol, that happened to me this morning! but it was with jahobliss witnesses [however the fuck you spell it] they came to my door talking about gay marrage and earthly peace and bullshit like that.. but they were talking for like 15 mins! like the whole time they were standing at my door talking i was lookin at em like WTF?? i eventually told em to fuck off but i cant stand when people try to convert me or push there beliefs on people, really when your talking about burning in hell if you dont follow there way, its like WTF? its complete bullshit, what about the animals?? lol the little ducks and cats and whatever the fuck eles runs around the planet?? TO ALL HOLY ROLLERS! WE ARE ANIMALS! almost exactly the same as a Ape... like if your ganna say the humans go to heaven or hell or fuckin anything eles, shouldnt animals too??? shouldnt they be judged too?? lol
and yeah the bible cant be proven, frankly i think its just made up storys... like the miricles and shit... jesus ok maybe he was real, but he wasnt what the BIBLE said he was... just some lunatic fucking a hoe, while preaching to people after taking to much mushrooms or opium... whatever he liked...

The bible IS a history book. It speaks of real nations, real kings, real events, and real people. verifiable fact throughout such cases.

What you described there is arrogant, self righteous bastards. I don't like braggarts, bullies, and blind people either. It is a personality flaw. People with deeply ingrained needs, and people who have been Pavlovian conditioned toward faith from a young age, tend to become cult like with their religions... and its stupid.

well a huge part of the historical descriptions in the bible HAVE stood up to archaeological and how ever history people apply scientific method. can you qualify your statement further? i concede that i can't conduct a God proof using measurement, but there is some who have made progress measuring the existence even of the soul.
genesis describes some very advanced science that is only now being understood in the modern times... it describes DNA, cloning, and medical operations with anesthetics and induced sleep just to name some. (see Genesis 2:21 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis%202:21;&version=9;))
bottomline, religion is more interwtined with science than the the religious leaders would have you believe. it encompasses all known science. the whole debate about religion vs. science is a sham. its the blind vs. the cynical, both based on indoctrination, arguing over a non issue because of the dogma of their beliefs and the social net oppressing their thought.

and I read that shit, fuck that, its not accurat enough to say It IS explaining science...
Yeah but, look at the context in which both quotes were written. The Genesis quote was intentionally a part of a creation story; Eminem seemed to have been venting emotion, not alluding to actual prophecy.
So, that is NOT like saying Eminem knew about the twin towers.

That sounds like a story line to me... not scientific...
Of course it sounds like a story line; it is a story. The point is that it could be alluding to the cloning process.
It's not proof, but it's worth speculation. I'm not trying to say that is THE explanation, but it is possible. There are many interpretations of the Bible, and this is simply one.
