Hello everyone. I was surfing the net and I stumbled onto this site. I was checkin out websites about how to start producing. I just wanted to let you all know about this interesting new dvd called Inside Sessions. it has interviews with Nelly, babyface, music execs adn other VIP in the music biz. They give you inof about breaking in to the industry adn otehr tips. Anyone else heard about this? If so did you find it helpful? or does anyone know of any other help-books or dvds abut becoming a music producer? Any suggestiosn would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Supastarr,
To be a music producer you should have a good understanding of the different aspects of programming, engineering and music arranging.

If you're interested you can visit my page at http://roadrecords.com/stafftextconradaskland.html

I'm no big time producer by any means, but I have worked full time in music production my whole life. Will give you one perspective.

You're from Bellevue Admin? I lived there for 8 years before I relocated to the south sound (6th Ave. in Tacoma). Great town http://www.rapdogs.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi LWS,
Yes, we do custom beats, but you have to come to the studio for that. We customize the entire arrangement to the vocal.

i beg to differ, ive been a producer for over 5 years now and i dont believe that one has to go to school to become a producer. i think that ones musical abilities are inherited since birth and cannot be taught. i will agree that some musical machines do need instructions especially the more complicated they are such as the mpc 4000 however once you learn that talent comes into play. i will say that producing comes from within, but mastering a beat does also require schooling. e mail me if you need any tips on how to get started.

i have been a label since 1974.the term producer means diferent things to different people. not all producers play the equipment. some come to the studio and even hum the music to artists and keyboard players. some come in with a quitar and strum it to a hired programmer who simply transposes the sound. everybody works different and unique. i started with the gansta lean sond in the seventies and have been in with e. budu, musiq, dru hill,...im in philly. http://soundgems.com

I'm making music for a year now. I use magix music maker and cubase to arrange beats for myself and my rapgroup. I do it all on my computer and with my midi keyboard. but I want to make better sounds and songs with vocals of better quality.
if anyone knows a site to take samples or midi files from please reply.
if you know a professional program to make songs with my computer microphone and keyboard with, I'd appreciate it if you mail me back

thanx
